The visit has been described as a historical one since Kamala is the first female to hold the VP post while her host, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, is the first female to serve at Tanzania’s highest office.
When she landed in Dar es Salaam, Ms Harris met with President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the State House in Dar es Salaam where the two leaders discussed new areas of cooperation to strengthen ties between the two countries.
Ms Harris also participated in a State Banquet, spoke to young people on innovation and women’s empowerment as well as visited the National Museum and House of Culture (NMT).
Goodbye and safe travel @VP Kamala Harris.
