Jamie Foxx has been kept in hospital for almost a week after he was admitted due to a ‘medical complication’ while filming in Atlanta.
The 55-year-old actor fell ill during scenes for a new action Netflix movie he is making with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close last Tuesday.
Sharing no specific details, his family alerted fans to his health scare, and on Monday is was reported that he was to remain at a health facility in Georgia.
People reported that the star was staying put in the care of professionals while undergoing a series of medical tests – despite reporting that a source had indicated he was improving on Friday.
Fans were made aware of the Django Unchained star’s health condition after his daughter posted an update to her social media.
Corinne Foxx, 29, – also an actor – uploaded a statement last Wednesday that read: ‘We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.
‘Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
‘We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time’.
Jamie shares his daughter with his former girlfriend Connie Kline and is also a dad to a 13-year-old daughter Annalise – whom he shares with Kristin Grannis.
Around the time of Corinne’s words, TMZ suggested the condition was serious enough to require time in the hospital, however no details of his symptoms were released.
Sharing that the Hollywood A-lister was being kept under observation in Atlanta, CNN broadcast news that said he was undergoing a series of tests to determine what had happened.
‘They are running tests and still trying to figure out what exactly happened,’ an insider explained to the outlet.
Back in Action was tipped to be Cameron’s comeback film but there is yet to be word on when her co-star will make his return to set.
