Social media reports of YouTube Vanced down or not working for users
Users have been complaining that YouTube Vanced has some kind of issue. The videos are not playing or loading.
The app’s recent malfunction has led users to believe that it may be permanently dead. Although. the YouTube Vanced team has yet to release an official statement or confirm these speculations.
A Redditor expressed disappointment over the bug, saying “Youtube just killed Vanced for good. We may have lost the battle, but the spirit of Vanced lives on in our hearts.”
Another user added: “YouTube Vanced is officially dead. Goodbye ad free YouTuibe. Hello, eternal suffering.”
Potential workarounds
We discovered a detailed guide to resolve the current problems with YouTube Vanced and restoring its functionality. But, the process may be lengthy, so we have a faster solution available.
As a possible solution, you can try going to the ‘Passwords and Accounts’ option in your phone settings and locate the account linked to MicroG. Remove this account and then log in again from the Vanced app.
According to a member of the MicroG dev team, Google may be flagging third-party YouTube apps where users have logged in through the tool. Uninstalling the MicroG app or enabling Vanced’s “Incognito Mode” may allow users to play videos, but they will lose access to playlists and history.
One workaround that has been suggested involves minimizing the video within the YouTube interface (without closing it) and repeatedly pressing the ‘play’ button.
Alternatively, users can create a new account to log into Vanced. Another workaround involves enabling vp9 or protobuf spoof to make the app work. An affected user confirmed that enabling vp9 or protobuf spoof will resolve the problem.
The cause of the issue is believed to be on YouTube’s side as more users are experiencing it.
