Michael McCaul pointed out that, when the Republicans gained the majority in the House after mid-term elections in November last year, they made it clear that accountability would have key importance for continued aid to Ukraine.
Washington hands over only about 20% of financial aid allocated for Ukraine directly to Kiev, with about 60% of this money being received by the US side itself, head of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs Michael McCaul said during a Committee hearing Wednesday.
“Of the $113 billion appropriated across four supplementals, approximately 60% is going to American troops, American workers, and modernizing American stockpiles. In fact, only 20% of the funding is going directly to the Ukrainian government in the form of direct budgetary assistance,” the lawmaker said.

The current House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) warned last fall that the Republicans would not allow the allocation of unlimited and not thoroughly justified aid to Ukraine.
