Fellow Ghanaians, on that fateful day in 2017 when the then president-elect Nana Akuffo Addo said Ghanaians should be citizens and not spectators, it gave birth to the awakening Ghanaians are experiencing now., especially realizing that his speech was plagiarising speeches from past American presidents.
Fast forward to today in the media space in Ghana, we all witness all sorts of accusations, twisted facts, ridicule, and worst of all misinformation being peddled by none other but Government operatives, as well as from the stale corridors of the Jubilee House (Seat of Governance of the Republic of Ghana), and shocking as this may be, it also poses a major security risk for the entire West African region should Ghana fall…as a result of an uprising, Would result in countries like Burkina Faso, Mali, and even Niger being economically affected since these inland countries today depend heavily of the Port of Tema and Tarkoradi for their imports., not to mention the displacement of people to these places until calm is restored.
The hardships Ghanaians are facing today as a result of mismanagement of the Ghanaian economy, corruption, and misappropriation of government funds, etc, etc are all under the watchful eyes of Western Governments who all have/hold their individual interests in what Ghana can and has been offering them for the past 65yrs, and that is not only restricted to our natural resources but the flow of stolen monies that are sent to their banks for safe-keeping and the development of their countries with these illicit funds that corrupt politician stash in their countries. Without single-ing out any particular country because they are all just as guilty as the world, these Western Nations in the guise of developmental partnerships have managed to corrupt the leadership of countries like Ghana, by deliberately turning a blind eye to the conduct of the Current Ghanaian government, knowing very well what the sentiments of the people of Ghana are towards the tyrannical type of governance that these same western nations frown upon in their media spaces.

The question on every Ghanaian lip today is, Do Countries like Germany, the USA, the UK, France, The Netherlands, etc have this sort of democracy/governance ?? In trying to get answers to this, we would like to take the opportunity via the Ghanaian media space, to start asking the resident Ambassadors of the above-mentioned countries if what they are experiencing or hearing the cry of the average Ghanaian ( or let’s assume their diplomatic bubble doesn’t allow them to see nor feel what Ghanaians have to embrace themselves with daily and therefore they don’t feel what the average Ghanaian feels, but at least they can read the local newspapers, have their own sources translate our local rants for them to understand etc, etc ) for them to see if this would be acceptable under their democracy since they wanted the rest of the world to become or adopt their democratic principles.
In Ghana, Social media gets lit up when we see photos of an Ambassador of a European country standing in queue to buy Waakye or taking a walk to the market to buy Tomatoes and the basic question of whether or not this Ambassador understands the plight of the people so much that she would like to enter into dialogue with the Government of Ghana to find ways to create interventions that can reduce to the suffering of the same people the ambassador prided herself to stand with to buy Waakye. Some Ghanaians of course would not be thrilled by such gimmicks because they understand the game at play.)
To end, these are the Twitter handles of Ambassadors from the main enablers of the current Akuffo Addo government that we believe every Ghanaian should tweet to and ask the basic question.. – Would your leaders get away with half the things the President of Ghana and his cronies are meeting on the people of Ghana and if not why haven’t they cautioned him on the values of democracy ????? Tweet your questions to @Verheul_Jeroen – of the Netherlands, @usambun – of the United States Of America to Ghana, @FranceandGhana – of France and @annesophieave – Ambassador of France to Ghana, @UkinGhana – UK High Commission to Ghana, @GermanAmbGhana – German Ambassador to Ghana, @HCThompson001 – UK High Commissioner to Ghana @DiploTom – Deputy High Commissioner to Ghana these being the major players to our economy as a people.
Communicators of all the political parties in Ghana should understand that its time to get off the spectating stands and become CITIZENS and take our destinies into our own hands, by asking the uncomfortable questions to these governments that finance the doom of our people., for its the only way that the needed change can happen for our motherland Ghana. Let’s all become patriotic citizens of mother Ghana and not spectators. The time to save Ghana is now.
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana and make us all great and strong in our convictions for a better and more prosperous Nation.
