During a private concert, the singer-songwriter announced the happy news.
Indeed, a happy new year! A rep confirms to Billboard that Chrissy Teigen gave birth and welcomed a new child with John Legend on Friday (Jan. 13).
People were the first to report that the singer-songwriter announced the happy news during a private concert that evening. Legend told attendees, “What a blessed day,” according to the publication. The 12-time Grammy winner also stated that despite spending a lot of time at the hospital and not getting much sleep in the days leading up to the event, he felt “energized” after the baby’s birth.
Some of those who attended the private performance also tweeted about the baby’s birth. “@johnlegend just informed us that he had a baby this morning #congratulations,” one user wrote.
The pair has not yet revealed any additional information about their newborn.
The happy entry of Legend and Teigen’s new child follows the recipe book author’s miscarriage in September 2020. At the moment, the model showed that they had lost their son Jack at 20 weeks due to a pregnancy complication. She later revealed more information, stating that the couple had learned that Jack “would not survive,” as well as she was without medical assistance. “Let’s just call it what it was: an abortion,” the actress said in September at Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Dialogue” summit. “I had an abortion to save my life for a baby who had no chance,” Teigen told attendees that the fact that it was abortion surprised her at the time.
In February 2022, she disclosed that she was undergoing IVF therapy in order to conceive again, but she inquired her supporters to not speculate on whether she was pregnant or not.
“I honestly don’t mind the shots… they make me feel like a doctor/chemist… But the cramping is a bi—, so I implore you to stop asking if I’m pregnant because, while I know it’s said with excited, good intentions, it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the polar opposite of pregnant!” she wrote at the time.
